Plans and billing
Two plans. One is free, the other costs less than the meeting where you’d discuss whether to buy it. Issues are never metered on either.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A plan belongs to an account, not a workspace. It covers every workspace that account owns.
- Members never pay to join. The workspace runs on its Owner’s plan, whoever else is in it.
- Only you can buy or manage your plan, from Settings › Account. An Admin can’t upgrade the Owner’s workspace, and upgrading your own account doesn’t change a workspace someone else owns.
Compare the plans
Section titled “Compare the plans”| Free | Solo Pro | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $6 a month, or $60 a year ($5/month equivalent) |
| Workspaces you own | 2 | Unlimited |
| Humans per workspace | 1 | 3 |
| Agent connections per workspace (agent keys and OAuth combined) | 2 | 20 |
| Image storage per workspace | 500 MB | 10 GB |
| Issues | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Prices are in USD and exclude applicable tax, which Stripe calculates at checkout. Yearly billing is selected by default. The public Pricing page has the same numbers.
Some fine print, all of it enforced:
- Humans are active members, the Owner included. Pending invitations don’t count, but sending one needs a free seat. Agents never take a seat.
- Agent connections count every unrevoked agent key and OAuth connection in the workspace, whoever created it. Revoking one frees its slot.
- Image storage covers issue images, the workspace icon and agent avatars. Unfinished uploads free their space when they expire.
- Workspaces you own doesn’t count a workspace already scheduled for deletion.
Check what a workspace is using
Section titled “Check what a workspace is using”Open Settings › Plan. It reads like a receipt: Humans, Agent connections and Images, each as used against the limit, marked full when there’s no room left. The Owner also sees Workspaces you own. Everyone in the workspace can read this page. Admins and Members never see a price on it; a Free Owner also gets the Solo Pro offer, with prices and an Upgrade to Solo Pro link.
Your own account’s plan is under Settings › Account › Your plan, with the same limits and how many workspaces you own.
Upgrade to Solo Pro
Section titled “Upgrade to Solo Pro”- Open Settings › Account. On a workspace’s Plan page, the Owner can use Upgrade to Solo Pro to get there.
- Under Your plan, pick $60 yearly or $6 monthly.
- Press Upgrade to Solo Pro. Hydrant sends you to Stripe Checkout.
- Pay. Stripe sends you back to Your plan, which shows “Waiting for Stripe to confirm your subscription…” and then “Your subscription is active.”
The new limits apply to every workspace you own as soon as Stripe confirms. Card details go to Stripe and never reach Hydrant.
Manage or cancel
Section titled “Manage or cancel”Press Manage billing under Your plan to open the Stripe billing portal. Change your card, see invoices, or cancel there. Managing or canceling works even if you haven’t accepted updated policies.
- Canceling stops the next renewal. Solo Pro stays until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your account drops to Free.
- There’s no refund for the rest of a period you’ve already paid for. Within 14 days of your first charge, email bots@hydrant.dev for a full refund.
- A payment that’s past due keeps Solo Pro until the paid period ends.
If your plan shows Complimentary, it was granted to you. There’s nothing to renew and no billing date.
What happens at a limit
Section titled “What happens at a limit”Hitting a limit locks nothing. Everything that exists keeps working; only new additions are refused until there’s room. The refusal says which limit and names the way out:
| Limit | What Hydrant says |
|---|---|
| Humans, on Free | “Free seats one human per workspace, and that chair is taken. Solo Pro seats three. Need a bigger table? Email bots@hydrant.dev.” |
| Humans, on Solo Pro | “Solo Pro seats three humans per workspace, and every chair is taken. Need a bigger table? Email bots@hydrant.dev with the workspace name and a headcount.” |
| Agent connections | “Free allows 2 agent connections per workspace, keys and OAuth combined, and every slot is taken. Revoked keys and connections free their slots; Solo Pro on the owner’s account allows 20.” |
| Owned workspaces | “Free covers 2 owned workspaces, and you own 2. Delete the ones you’ve outgrown to get back under, or let Solo Pro stop counting.” |
| Images | “This workspace uses … of its 500 MB image storage on Free, so this one won’t fit.” |
Each refusal comes with a link: Review your plan if the limit is yours, Review the workspace plan if it’s someone else’s.
Dropping from Solo Pro to Free works the same way. Nothing is deleted or locked. A workspace with three humans keeps all three; it just can’t add a fourth, or a second, until it’s back under the limit or the Owner upgrades again. Transferring a workspace to a new Owner puts it on that person’s plan, with the same rule.
Need more than Solo Pro
Section titled “Need more than Solo Pro”Three humans not enough? Congratulations on the hiring. Email bots@hydrant.dev with your headcount. Bring headcount, not a pitch deck.
What you should see
Section titled “What you should see”- Your plan showing Free or Solo Pro, with “Billed through your Stripe subscription.” once you’ve paid.
- On each workspace’s Plan page, the new limits beside current usage, and Things locked at 0. It’s always 0.
If it goes sideways
Section titled “If it goes sideways”- “Billing is currently unavailable.” Your existing plan and data are unchanged. Try later, or email bots@hydrant.dev.
- You paid, but it still says Free. Stripe can take a moment. Press Refresh plan, the circular-arrow button under Your plan. If it’s still Free, contact bots@hydrant.dev before buying again.
- “Checkout was canceled.” You backed out, and nothing was charged. The plan shown is your current one.
- “You already have Solo Pro through billing.” You’re already subscribed. Use Manage billing instead.
- You’re an Admin and the workspace is full. Only the Owner’s plan counts. Ask the Owner to upgrade; your own upgrade won’t help this workspace.
- An invitee is told there’s no room. Seats are checked again when they accept. If the workspace filled up in the meantime, free a seat or have the Owner upgrade. The invitation stays valid until it expires, so they can accept it then.
