Views, search and settings

The issues are in there somewhere. This is how to get the right twenty on screen, and where the workspace’s controls live.

Some issues to look at. For the settings half: Members see Members and Agents; Admins and the Owner see every section.

The sidebar has them ready:

View Shows
Cockpit The work that can move: awake and unblocked, from Ready through review, plus what recently closed, done or canceled.
Current work Everything in play: Ready, In Progress and the review stages, minus snoozed work.
Needs refinement Issues with loose ends. The count beside it is a to-do list for whoever plans.
Backlog Captured and unpromised.
Available to start Ready, Refined, awake and unblocked. The honest answer to “what next?”
All issues, Iced, Snoozed, Trash What they say.

The last five hide under More views. Star any view to pin it under Favorites.

Press Filter, or f. Filter by status, priority, size, assignee, project, milestone, cycle, label, dependency, refinement or snooze, or search by title or #number. Filters show as chips. Remove one, or Clear filters.

Display sets grouping and sub-grouping (status, priority, assignee or size), ordering, density, whether completed issues and sub-issues show, and which properties appear on each row. The two modes are Shut up (one line, less UI) and Firehose (two lines, more context). Display choices apply to this view, in this browser.

When a filter earns its keep, press Save view. Your views are yours alone. Workspace views are everybody’s, and an Admin creates them, or any Member once an Admin allows it under Settings › General. If a saved view’s filters drift, it shows Modified filters, with Update saved view and Reset to saved beside it.

⌘K or Ctrl+K opens Find it. Type a title, a #number, a view, a project or a settings section, and press Enter. Start with > to see only commands: create an issue, switch workspace, or change the open issue’s status, assignee, priority, size or snooze without touching the mouse.

Settings sits at the bottom of the sidebar.

  • Preferences are personal: appearance (light, system or dark), timezone, sidebar counts, notifications, product analytics sharing, your avatar, your plan and account deletion.
  • The rest belong to the workspace: General, Members, Workflow, Labels, Cycles, Planning calendar, Agents and Playbook.

There is exactly one Owner. Nobody can remove or demote them, and they can’t leave without transferring ownership first. Deleting a workspace gives you seven days of regret: cancel from All workspaces before then, or it’s gone for good.

A list that answers the question you actually had. The address bar carries the view and its filters, so a link to it shows a teammate the same thing, as far as their access allows.

  • An issue is missing from a view. It’s probably snoozed, iced, trashed or done. Try All issues, or search its number in the palette.
  • “This section is unavailable with your current access.” That section needs an Admin. Your drafts are kept.
  • You can’t create a label or a workspace view. Members can’t by default. An Admin can, or can switch on Allow members to manage shared labels and views.
  • Display reset itself. It’s stored in your browser, per view. A different browser, or cleared site data, starts fresh.
  • A shortcut does nothing. c and f stand down while you’re typing in a field. Click outside it first.
