Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Hydrant (the "Service"), operated by Background Craft LLC ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including visitors, registered users, and contributors.

Description of Service

Hydrant is a project and context management platform designed for agent-native workflows. The Service allows users to create and manage issues, notes, decisions, and related content within shared or personal workspaces.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time. We will try to provide reasonable notice when practical.

Account Registration

To use most features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.
• Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
• Upload or transmit malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems.
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users.
• Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service without our written permission.
• Use the Service for any unlawful, deceptive, or fraudulent purpose.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

Intellectual Property

Your content

You retain ownership of content you create in Hydrant, including issues, notes, decisions, and related workspace content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display that content solely as needed to provide and improve the Service for you and your workspace.

Our content

The Hydrant name, logo, product design, and underlying software are owned by Background Craft LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except as permitted by law, you may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from our materials without our prior written consent.

Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including WorkOS AuthKit for authentication, GitHub for optional OAuth sign-in, Convex for backend infrastructure, and Resend for transactional email delivery. Your use of those third-party services may also be subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their independent practices.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, BACKGROUND CRAFT LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, USE, OR DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Background Craft LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms, create risk for other users, or expose us to legal liability.

You may request account deletion from Settings → Security → Delete account. After a valid deletion request, we will process your account deletion in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and may provide additional notice when appropriate. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
